Emergency and temporary boiler hire, nationwide
When a commercial boiler fails, the building still has to run. We deliver, install and commission temporary boilers from 90kW to 600kW anywhere in the UK, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Boiler down? Emergency hire seven days a week, 365 days a year.
0800 644 6240Temporary heating and hot water for buildings that cannot go cold
Boiler Hire UK has supplied temporary heating to hospitals, factories and local authority buildings for over two decades. When permanent plant fails, or a planned refurbishment takes it offline, a hire unit keeps the building running while the real work happens on its own timetable.
Our portable boilers are flexible enough to fit almost any system, whether that is a single circuit or multiple circuits with headers, individual distribution pumps and calorifiers. They run from 90kW up to 600kW in gas, oil or dual fuel.
Compact enough to be towed, pushed or craned into awkward places, they are delivered to site and installed within hours, which is what makes them a genuine answer to a breakdown rather than a next-week solution.

Sized for your site, not for ours
Packaged and containerised units, hired with the boiler, burner and a standard pump, and every ancillary the connection needs.
The buildings we keep warm
Hospitals, schools, factories and public estates. Different demands, the same requirement: the heating cannot simply stop.
Hospitals & healthcare
Priority response for trust buildings and clinics, sized against ward, theatre and hot water demand.
Schools & education
Installed over holidays and weekends so a boiler replacement never costs a teaching day.
Care homes & housing
Priority for vulnerable residents, with monitoring available for the length of the hire.
Industrial & manufacturing
Process heat and factory space heating held through a plant room programme.
Offices & retail
Discreet temporary plant with hoardings and quiet-run options where it sits in public view.
Public sector
Framework-friendly hire for leisure centres, council buildings, crematoria and civic estates.
Nationwide, from the middle
Stoke-on-Trent sits on the M6 between Birmingham and Manchester. That is what makes a national emergency service workable from one base rather than a promise made from a call centre.
From your first call to hot water on site
You call us
Any hour, any day of the year. Tell us the site, the fault, and roughly what capacity you think you need.
We size and quote
Specification and price the same day for planned hire, within the hour for an emergency.
We deliver and install
Our engineers deliver, connect and commission. Most installs are producing heat within hours.
We collect when done
Once your permanent plant is back, we disconnect, drain and collect. Nothing lingers on site.
Recent jobs
Real installations, written up properly: what failed, what went in, and what it let the building keep doing.
Questions we get asked most
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You will get a straight answer rather than a callback form.
For a genuine emergency we aim to be on site and running the same day, and most installations are producing heat within a few hours of the unit arriving. For planned work we put the temporary boiler in before your permanent plant comes offline, so the building never goes cold at all. Ring 01782 274537 rather than emailing if it is urgent.
It depends on the building’s heat load rather than its floor area. As a rough guide, small commercial premises and surgeries suit the 90kW, mid-size buildings suit the 250kW, and larger sites need 400kW to 600kW or a packaged plant room. Tell us what your existing boiler is rated at and we will size against that.
Yes. We hire nationwide from our Stoke-on-Trent base, which sits within a few hours of most of the country. London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Bristol, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh are all regularly covered.
In almost every case, yes. Our engineers use standard Storz hose connections and carry the pumps, plate heat exchangers, headers, manifolds and adapters needed to integrate with most commercial and industrial systems, whether that is a single circuit or multiple circuits with calorifiers.
It depends on the unit size, the fuel, how long you need it and how complex the installation is. The 90kW starts at £1,200 per week including the boiler, burner and standard pump. Larger units are priced on application. Call 01782 274537 and we will quote against your actual site.
Our own engineers, not subcontractors. They are City & Guilds trained, Gas Safe registered and REFCOM certified, and they deliver, connect, fill, vent and commission the unit, then disconnect, drain and collect it when your permanent plant is back.
Yes, though most of our work is commercial, industrial and public sector. The 90kW unit suits larger domestic properties and is the one usually specified for a home.
