Privacy & cookie policy
How Boiler Hire UK Ltd collects, uses and stores information from users of this website, and what your rights are.
This policy sets out how Boiler Hire UK Ltd collects, maintains, uses and discloses information collected from users of boilerhireuk.co.uk. We may change it from time to time by updating this page, so it is worth checking back if you want to be sure you are happy with how we handle your data.
Who we are
Boiler Hire UK Ltd, registered in England and Wales no. 11287661, of 30a Sandon Road, Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire ST3 7DL. We are the data controller for the information described here. If you have any question about this policy, email sales@boilerhireuk.com or call 01782 274537.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us, which in practice means when you complete the enquiry form or email or call us. You can browse the whole site without submitting anything.
- Your name and, if you give one, your company name
- Your email address and telephone number
- The site address and postcode you are enquiring about, and the hire dates you need
- Whatever you write in the message field
Separately, our analytics records usage data: IP address, approximate location, browser and operating system, referral source, length of visit, pages viewed and navigation path. We use it to understand how the site is used and to improve it. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in monitoring and improving the website.
How we use it
Enquiry details are used to respond to your enquiry, to quote for the hire, and to carry out the work if you go ahead. The lawful basis is the performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one. We do not sell your data, and we do not add enquiry addresses to a marketing list.
Who we share it with
Enquiries are delivered to us by email through our email provider and are stored in our own mailbox. Where a job requires it, details may be shared with our engineers and with our sister company Mellor & Mottram. We do not share your information with anyone else except where we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a hire are kept for two years, in case you come back to us. Records relating to an actual hire are kept for six years from the end of the contract, which is the period we need them for tax, insurance and contractual purposes.
Cookies and third parties
This site sets no cookie of its own. It has no login, no shopping basket and no comment system, so there is nothing for a first-party cookie to remember.
Two third-party services are used, and both load only where they are needed rather than on every page:
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects the enquiry form from automated abuse. It loads on pages carrying the form and may set a short-lived token in your browser. It is a privacy-preserving alternative to a traditional captcha and does not track you across sites. It is strictly necessary for the form to work, so it is not covered by the consent banner.
- Google Analytics 4, which records the usage data described above. It runs in Google’s Consent Mode with every storage type denied by default, which means that until you accept, it sets no cookies and stores nothing at all on your device. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, it stays that way.
We ask before we store anything. The banner appears on your first visit, Accept and Decline are given equal prominence, and declining is remembered in the same way as accepting. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Before you choose, and if you decline, Google Analytics sends a cookie-free signal that a page was viewed. It carries no identifier, nothing is written to your device, and it cannot be used to recognise you on a later visit or on another site.
Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, so declining leaves nothing on your machine that we set.
You can also prevent cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop this site working.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights over the personal data we hold about you:
- To be informed about what we process and why
- To access the personal data we hold on you
- To have inaccurate data corrected
- To have your data erased in certain circumstances
- To restrict how we process your data
- To data portability in certain circumstances
- To object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Not to be subject to automated decision-making or profiling, which we do not carry out
- To withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these, email sales@boilerhireuk.com. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
This site is served entirely over HTTPS, and enquiry submissions are encrypted in transit. No payment details are ever collected through this website.
